South Africa A tour of India 2025: Series Details

The unofficial Test matches will be played at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground 1 in Bengaluru. The unofficial ODI games will be played at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Khandheri, Rajkot. On Tuesday, October 21, India announced the squads for the two-match unofficial Test series. Rishabh Pant will make his long-awaited return in this series. Pant sustained a foot injury during the India tour of England and missed the two-match Test series against the West Indies.

India has named two separate squads for the Test series. Pant has been appointed the captain of the team, while Sai Sudharsan has been named the vice-captain. Ayush Mhatre, who became a household name during the IPL this year, has been named in the squad for the first Test. Rajat Patidar, Devdutt Padikkal, Ayush Badoni, and N Jagadeesan are the other batters in the team. Harsh Dubey, Tanush Kotian, and Manav Suthar are the all-rounders in the team, while the bowling attack consists of Yash Thakur, Anshul Kamboj and Saransh Jain. Dubey, Kotian, Thakur and Suthar last played for India A against Australia A in the previous month.

KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj have been named in the team for the second Test. Akash Deep, Khaleel Ahmed, and Gurnoor Brar are the fast bowlers in the squad. Mhatre, Patidar, Kamboj, Thakur, Badoni and Saransh have not been included in the squad for the second Test.

  • Gaikwad stayed in great form and scored an unbeaten 68, helping India A take a 2–0 lead and win the series.

3rd Unofficial ODI (November 19, 2025): South Africa A won by 73 runs

  • South Africa A finished the ODI series with a strong performance. Lhuan-dre Pretorius (123) and Rivaldo Moonsamy (107) helped their team reach 325.
  • India A tried to fight back but were bowled out for 252.
