Cricket South Africa officially confirmed the full 2026-27 domestic fixture list on August 27, 2026, alongside a rebrand that changes what this competition is even called. What was known as the CSA 4-Day Series Division 1 is now the 1st Class Series, part of a wider identity overhaul that also merges the old T20 Challenge and T20 Knockout into a single 16-team Pro20 Cup and renames the 50-over competition the Dafabet Pro50 Cup.
The season runs from September 10, 2026, to April 30, 2027, one of the longest domestic first-class calendars in recent memory, with Division One teams playing at least three additional matches compared to last season.

What’s New for 2026-27 Season
Beyond the rebrand, CSA has also increased the amount of red-ball cricket played across the season, with Division 1 teams gaining at least three extra first-class matches compared to 2025-26.
CSA CEO Pholetsi Moseki framed the changes as an attempt to give each domestic competition a clearer identity while creating more playing opportunities across the system, most visibly through the merger of the T20 Challenge and T20 Knockout into the unified, 16-team Pro20 Cup.
