The 2025-26 season is expected to be an exciting year for South Africa cricket, as the team prepares to take on some of the strongest sides in both bilateral and multi-nation series. Remarkably, there will be no home Test matches for the men’s squad. They will not be playing a red-ball game at home for the first time since South Africa’s readmission.

The schedule will include both home and away fixtures, covering Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is). Preparing the venues for the ODI World Cup in 2027 is one of the driving forces for the move. The renovations will include adding drop-in fields and changing the floodlights in all of the stadiums. Prior to the major tournament, South Africa is anticipated to test the modifications by hosting games during the 2026–2027 season.

The men’s squad will host a five-match series against the West Indies in January 2026 in order to be ready for the T20 World Cup, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka in February and March.

In contrast, the women’s squad will host a white-ball series against Pakistan and Ireland. Speaking on the subject, Pholetsi Moseki, CEO of CSA, stated that the Proteas women would participate in several series and that the tours would offer fierce competition.
